Pair of Large Bronze Marly Horses after Coustou

DescriptionCirca 1880. A fine pair of bronzes known as ‘Marly Horses’, after the original by ‘Guillaume Coustou the Elder ‘(1677-1746). The original pair were commissioned for Chateau de Marly in 1739. It took two years for the completion of the horses to be installed, which was carried out in 1745.
